Smartphone usage is up amongst Canadian farmers, according to a recent Farm Credit Canada Vision panel survey.

Three-quarters, or 76 per cent, of the 843 people surveyed, now own a smartphone. The survey results have a margin of error of 3.37 per cent, 19 times out of 20.

The study also indicates a growing willingness of producers to try new technologies sooner, rather than wait until they become well-established. Over one quarter — 26 per cent — say they are the first amongst their peers to try new technology. Three years ago, 16 per cent of producers surveyed felt they would be first amongst their peers to try new technology.
